Typical Siefersheim: a very fine and slender Riesling with pronounced minerality from soils of volcanic origin.

Even in young vintages with little bottle ripeness, the nose is characterized by yellow fruits such as quince and vineyard peach, while in the mouth, due to the still edgy acidity and the slight sparkle, rather citrus and apple notes dominate. With some bottle ripeness or air in the glass, the exciting aromatics of more exotic fruits and tangy, herbal notes on the finish then unfold in the mouth as well, always accompanied by concise but subtle minerality.

2019
The 2019 Riesling dry is brilliant and shows yellow-green in the glass with white-golden reflections.
Green apple and crisp apricot in the first nose. Promisingly pithy with some air. White tea, wet lime. In the mouth slim and dry with intense acidity. The alcohol goes down in the melt, only delicately pressing out behind, is well integrated.
Yellow fruits on the cerebral cortex. Exoticism, apple scoop. The reddish porphyry with all its crystalline inclusions sets the stage on the tongue. Grapefruit is the protagonist, wading through tart herbs in the finish to climb down the stone wall on the taut acid framework. This is brave, this has tension, challenges the connoisseur.
With this impressive combination of pressure and elegance, the dry Lagenwein from the Siefersheim Heerkretz is typical. Not too serious. But good! Really good at 11-13°C in a medium sized white wine glass with its peak in 2024 and beyond. Try it with: Grilled gilthead or sautéed baby calamari with fresh lemon, Patatas Bravas and dill aioli.

2020
The nose is characterized by yellow fruits such as quince and vineyard peach, while the mouth is dominated by citrus and apple notes due to the still edgy acidity and slight tingling. With a little bottle ageing or air in the glass, the exciting aromas of more exotic fruits and tart, herbal notes on the finish unfold in the mouth, always accompanied by a concise but subtle minerality.
Those who are used to slate and subtle acidity will be somewhat challenged by this Riesling – but also richly rewarded.

2021
The round Riesling nose with gooseberries, raspberries, bright yellow fruity aromas and slightly floral and flinty nuances in the background keeps its promise. Juicy and round, with some emphasis on the acidity, overall broad and long, the 21er Ortswein comes to the tongue with a sweep of green-yellow fruits, but also grapefruit and dried herbs.
Before the well-balanced nose is also found in the finish, the young local wine runs riot in the mouth. A few salty tones, kiwi, gooseberry, herbs, lime, citrus fruit again, long arc of tension.
Then, typically Riesling, yellow apple and gooseberry are in the mouth for a long time. This is accompanied, typically Siefersheim, by tart minerality and a hint of smoke.
Only in the extremely long finish does this wine (as of the end of 2022) dissolve the tension field into pleasant pleasing and a mouthfeel for which the wild journey was more than worth it.
Drinking recommendation for relaxed travel: Summer 2023 onwards. Drinking recommendation for a wild ride: Order now.

2022
Too young to drink, except you like to have a sneak-preview on that great ripening potential.
