The 2019 Scheurebe sweet is brilliant and appears in the glass in a very light golden yellow.
The bouquet is not obtrusive, but knows how to bewitch with excessive fruitiness. In the nose fresh peach rings and lemon sweets hidden from mummy – the best, with a slightly liquid, ticklish core – of course.
In the mouth the Scheurebe presents itself sweet with a good volume and, as expected, a clear fruit sweetness. The acidity is well integrated and has a balancing effect. Aromas of dragon fruit, overripe lemon and candied pineapple come to the connoisseur’s mind. The porphyry layers around Siefersheim give a very delicately salty minerality, which adds some complexity. But let’s make no secret of it, this is a fun wine! Ice-cold on the terrace, at the pool party or to round off a successful menu in summer, just before dancing – a great choice.
For those who want to accompany a whole menu, I recommend as a starter a shrimp cocktail with pineapple on roasted white bread. For the main course the southern classic Jumbalaya and for dessert a lemon meringue.
In any case at 9-11°C in a small white wine glass.
