Description
The dry Pinot Blanc from 2019 shows itself in the glass brilliantly in medium strong golden yellow, with green-yellow reflections. The first nose reveals preserved kumquats and green apple. After swirling, one also finds crisp apricots and pickled pears. With plenty of air even some toffee.
In the mouth the Pinot Blanc presents itself dry and very strong with the sweetness of the fully ripe fruit and harmoniously balanced acidity. The well-integrated 14 percent by volume make the wine a powerful one. Besides a subtle trace of salt, aromas of crisp pears and fresh Boskoop apples (with seeds) are evident. The wine does show structure. With the ripe acidity, the delicate bitterness and subtle mouth-watering minerality, there are further aromas of walnut, preserved pears and wet chalk. The aftertaste is long and offers once again the entire kaleidoscope of the aforementioned aromas.
Best at 12-14° in a small Burgundy goblet . As an accompaniment to your meal, why not try: Orichiette with veal stew and anchovies. Or fried char on fennel risotto with strips of ham. Those who prefer a purely vegetarian option should try kohlrabi carpaccio with raspberry dressing and roasted walnuts.
