Description
The 2019 Scheurebe dry is clear and shows itself in the glass in pale golden yellow with yellow-green reflections. The first nose reveals ripe, yellow stone fruits and highly aromatic quinces. Black currant jelly, embedded in the finest enamel. The gentle breeze of the primeval sea.
In the mouth very strong with subtle extract sweetness and mild acidity. The 14 revolutions give enormous drive. Already with the initial taste, yellow stone fruits and flower honey come to mind. There is a certain complexity in the Scheurebe Ortswein. As in addition to the handy structure of mild acidity, tension-imparting bitter substances, delicate tannins and salty minerality, aromas of apricots and quince marmalade are also evident. The aftertaste is impressive in length and harmony.
Best at 13-15 °C in a Bordeaux glass. Drinking horizon: 2020 – 2024. As an accompaniment to your meal, try an appetizer of goat’s cheese au gratin on summery leaf salads. Or for the main course: Barbarie duck breast roasted on the skin with cassis, green asparagus and parmesan. Or take it as an accompaniment to the cheese course with mature Tommette de Savoie with quince mustard, fresh sourdough bread and good, salted butter.
